If your import stops with:
Import error. openURL is not a function
this was a bug on our side and it is already fixed.
What was happening
Auto Captions is not supported in Premiere Pro CC 2022 and older. When you tried to use it on one of those versions, Pack Manager offered you our online version at aijuice.com instead. That fallback offer itself failed to open, and the import stopped with the “openURL is not a function” message.
So the error almost always showed up around Auto Captions and Auto Subtitles, and it was the fallback message that broke, not the captions themselves.
What we did
We fixed it in January 2026. Every Pack Manager release since then is unaffected.
How to fix it
Update Pack Manager to the latest version:
Windows: https://aejuice.com/pack_manager/AEJuice_Pack_Manager.zip?utm_source=aejuice_forum&utm_content=fix-openurl-not-a-function
macOS: https://aejuice.com/pack_manager/AEJuice_Pack_Manager_mac.zip?utm_source=aejuice_forum&utm_content=fix-openurl-not-a-function
Close Premiere Pro before installing, then reopen it and try again.
Note that updating removes the error, but Auto Captions still needs Premiere Pro CC 2023 or later. On CC 2022 and older you have two working options: use the online version at https://aijuice.com, or generate the captions in After Effects instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V6BHtA81qw
If you still hit the error after updating, send us a report with Shift+W in Pack Manager and tell us which pack and item you were importing.
